Strategy for UPSC prelims subject wise :
POLITY – For polity, study laxmikant and 11thncert but always try to interlink polity with the current affairs.
GEOGRAPHY– Focus on 11-12thncert and current news based map work.look at place,oceans etc in news. Try to use atlas and study the country, its location,geography, neighbouring countries or international relation related to place in news and how those international events effect india national interest . like middle east,sea piracy,south china sea,Somalia etc.
ECONOMY-Economy is mostly current oriented with few static conceptual questions asked. Use standard text book to understand the KEY CONCEPT only. Follow newspaper for current events and make notes of key economic concepts .
ENVIRONMENT– Refer to book by shankar ias and NIOS pdf .Keep track of international body,agreement realated to environment,forest,climate change etc.ANy summit in india or world, thir outcome and impact on india and world, endangered speceis, bird, animals etc.
CULTURE– Refer to book by nitin singhania and NIOS pdf.But study indian culture through the phase of ancient t medeival india.You need to study continuity and change to understand indian culture.

- Before prelims , make sure you have completed 60 % of mains syllabus
- Make short note for quick revision
